Transfagarasan (The road between the clouds)

Route: Bucharest – Curtea de Arges – Transfagarasan – Sibiu – Bucharest

Day 1

We will start early in the morning from your hotel (or airport). We will travel through Pitesti, Curtea de Arges  and the first stop will be at Poenari Fortress,  build on whish of Vlad Tepes (also known as Dracula).

After that we will continue along the sinuous Arges River Valley on the famous road of Transfagarasan – “the greatest road in the world “, how famous producers of Top Gear auto show, name it.

Tens of  kilometers of breathtaking landscapes, springs, waterfalls, and  serpentines that raises adrenalin, will follow. We will reach the glacier lake Balea at 2040.

From here we will descend to Sibiu Medieval Town , where we will visit the Roman Catholic Church, the Large Square, the Small Square, Bridge of Lies. We will have accommodation in Sibiu.

Day 2

After breakfast we will visit the Orthodox Cathedral and  the Council Tower.

Next we will start driving and we’ll soon arrive at the Museum of traditional folk civilization (an open air museum).

After this travel in time, we will drive to Bucharest along the Olt Valley, one other beautiful Romanian road and will visit Turnuri Monastery and Cozia Monastery.

Because is a private tour it can be redesigned in accordance with your request.

Note that Mondays, Tuesdays and on public holidays some of the objectives can be closed, for this reason we must talk and schedule the trip to avoid that.
